Terminology

I stand corrected!! A wise friend of mine who knows fashion has rightfully pointed out that the correct term for "cufflink holes" (see Top 10 list) should be "double cuff shirts or sleeves". This wise "fashionista" also felt that all shirts should have double cuff sleeves. I have a difference of opinion on that one, but of course she is English. :)

(A double cuff is also called a French cuff. It is an alternative to buttons. A dress shirt cuff is folded and then closed with cuff links or silk knots. Fabric knots and cuff links are solely designed for double cuffs or French cuffs. Double cuffs were regarded as more formal than button cuffs however more and more are being adopted as the preferred fashion statement).
