My Current Beauty Routine

I've gotten some requests recently to share my beauty routine, so even though this is a bit out of my comfort zone, I figured why not have a little fun (hello, kissy face!), and give you guys the run-down. I've always been pretty low-key and try to get my makeup done in about 15 minutes. Here's what I currently use for my daily go-to beauty look...

SKIN: My skincare routine is pretty elaborate since I don't have the best of skin- Thank god for Instagram filters! That said, I'll save it for another post, and simply focus on the makeup aspect for now. I need good coverage even in the summer months, so I use a combination of products that feel light but have strong cover game. Under my eyes I dab Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm for a dewy brightness to hide dark spots. I then use a Sonia Kashuk Core Tools Concealer Brush with Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Concealer to cover my blemishes. Using my fingers I then apply and blend L'Oreal Visible Lift Serum Foundation over my face. Last, I set everything with BareMinerals Original Foundation Powder.

BLUSH/BRONZER/HIGHLIGHTER: For some definition, I use either the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Bronzer, Highlighter & Blush Palette in Streak or BareMinerals All-Over Face Color in Warmth. I blend the bronzer with any brush I have handy along my cheekbones, hairline and lightly on my nose and chin. If I'm in the mood for a little color I add some of the blush from the palette over the apples of my cheeks. For highlighting, I'm obsessed with Chantecaille Liquid Lumière Illuminator in Sheen. I dab a little along the top of my cheeks, the inner corner of my eyes and under my brow arch for a flattering and subtle glow.

BROWS: First I groom my eyebrows with the brush end of my Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil in Soft Brown and then fill them in with the pencil side. To keep them in place throughout the day, I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel.

EYES: To begin, I lightly dab one of the bronzers mentioned earlier to my lids for a little depth. Next, I tightline my eyes with simple black eyeliner. I like to use the Almay Contour Crayon Eyeliner since it doesn't smudge as much as a pencil. If I want to add some flair and have some extra time, I like to do a winged cat-eye look with Cover Girl Intensify Me! Liquid Liner. To complete my eyes, I go straight for my Shiseido Eyelash Curler and throw on a few coats of Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion Mascara in Very Black.

LIPS: I usually use a mix of Ilia Lipstick in In My Room and Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Rosé. If I want a brighter pop of color I like to use Nars Lipstick in Heat Wave or Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner in Bang Bang.

HAIR: For the look in the photos I let my hair air dry after spritzing in Bumble and bumble Surf Spray and applying Rodin Luxury Hair Oil to the ends.

As some of you may know, I recently made the move from NYC to LA and am finally starting to get my new apartment together. MY GUIDE TO LA

As some of you may know from my instagram feed, I spent the month of August exploring Los Angeles and other parts of California. I've been many times, but never this long, so it was great to finally be able to check out more of what I hadn't gotten to yet. Anyway, I thought it'd be cool to do a quick guide with some of my LA favorites. Enjoy!


BEST PLACE TO STAY:



Pretty much every time I come to LA I use Airbnb. It's cheaper than a hotel and you can find some AMAZING spots in all the different neighborhoods. This time around I found gems in Malibu and in West Hollywood. Both were in perfect locations, had great interior design and private pools. This made it real hard to leave!


BEST WAY TO GET AROUND:



Hands down, Silvercar. Ever since my first experience renting with them in Dallas, I was hooked. When I heard they opened in LA, I was super excited since the LAX rental car situation can be a serious pain. The process is seamless- you reserve and pick up your rental using their app. The best part is that all their cars are stunning silver Audis with GLORIOUS built-in wi-fi. I selfishly admit that this was perfect for catching up on emails/instagram/twitter/vine/facebook while my poor fiance drove us around in LA traffic.

If you are following me on the Instagram then you already know that I was in Prague with my partner in crime Jelena where we attended Prague Fashion Weekend, better known as #MBPFW one week ago.
As special guests of M∙A∙C cosmetics we were part of some really great fashion shows, backstage rush and private parties. And what I can say? We had a blast!
Welcomed (and later driven around) by Tick Tack taxi service provided by M∙A∙C (I highly recommend this one when you are in Prague, they even have a WiFi in their cars) and their great team I immediately felt as a true princess because of their special treatment. Pampered and loved, that's how I would describe it! :)

Let's talk about shows now!
- My favorite one was definitely from Jakub Polanka, young Czech designer who presented some amazing pieces on the catwalk. Smart, comfortable and at the same time chic. So keep an eye on his work, this shy and really down to earth guy will make even bigger success!

- Chatty is a design studio from Prague and I liked several pieces from their collection for example This and This, but I have to admit that they were a little bit confusing. They showed mix of perfectly designed pieces and those that you can find at Zara. But if they focus more on their own design skills, I think that they can create magnificent collection!

- Daniela Peskova is my third favorite designer from MBPFW. She reminds me at some Serbian designers who are great in creating simple but still eye catchy pieces.

Despite the fact that I'm not a huge fan of tattoos I need to share my sympathy to a true star of this MBPFW  Rick Genest aka the Zombie boy! I would never tell that he is actually bashful and nice! 

Backstage time!
M∙A∙C Senior Artist - Netta Szekely was the one who created all the make up looks according to designers collection themes and vibes. And she did the amazing job! Together with the international M∙A∙C artists she did the 26 shows for MBPFW. Well done! It's quite impressive when you see what these creative people are doing during the crazy fashion months around the globe and how many things they need to make every single show perfect when it comes to makeup. And what's even better is when you have chance to be part of it!

Overall
It was hectic, a little bit exhausting but above all very inspiring. New city, new people, new energy.
Prague is such a cute town and I would love to come back one day and explore it even more. I had chance to make only a quick tour to the most popular touristic places and I love everything except the fact that it was crowded. So if you are planning your visit, I would suggest to make an early morning sightseeing tour and enjoy!
