Fashion Week Snaps

My colleague Natalie was being snapped by style bloggers all of LFW-they could not get enough!  She spotted me and her (though I was def the friend in the back ground!) on http://streetstylelondon.blogspot.com/ , snapped just before Jeager show .....funny to see yourself on a blog suddenly, especially as I'm not an outfit poster so don't really see myself online apart from facebook photos that I normally want to hurriedly detag!  But there you go, my first minor (unamed) mention...that's what comes from hanging around stylish girls in bright pink coats!  Check out Natalies blog at http://www.cannedfashion.com/

Burberry Prorsum A/W 10

Who needs sunshine and bikinis when you could have shearling coats and sheepskin flying jackets by the infallible Burberry Prorsum.  After longing for longer days and sunny mornings, Burberry's amazing collection has reawakened in me a love for chilly winds and log fires...Clearly Khaki and military earthy tones are here to stay and there's a real russian army vibe going on, which I've noticed in a few collection so far.  Think this winter will be a big mix of traditional highland tweeds and Russian military tailoring and detailing, softened with bits of wispy lace and draping, flowing fabrics that move like a dream....I'm excited already.  And of course, Burberry pulled in an epic front row...any show that pulls the Olsens over the pond deserves a round of applause.
But, looking ahead to summer....booked my summer hol today to Greece today with freddie.  Whoooo!  I'm looking for a half price Missoni bikini and plotting my (imaginary) yoga routine already.

The perfect boot wedge heels...

Christina of src783 showcases THOSE perfect harnessed heels....I'm currently searching for the perfect black wedge boots (preferably a perfect and affordable copy of Acne's lace-ups) but I would give up my search and not shop again for a year (or at least a very long time) for these babies.

Abbey Lee Matthew Williamson

Look who I spotted walking at Matthew Williamson yesterday...only my favourite Abbey Lee.  The highlight of the day for me for sure, although Matthew Williamson was a really great show (awesome leather and suede trousers and dresses that were as fluid as water).  And my colleague Natalie's day was made when she said hello to Olivia Palermo outside after the show. Olivia was so sweet and sickeningly, flawlessly pretty in the flesh...I simply loitered in the background smiling like a loser.  Had such a fun day yesterday at LFW and Jaegar was awesome today too.  Real Urbanite goes hunting vibe going on with amazing chunky knit swing jumper dresses and relaxed camel-colored suits.  had my eye of some super-sheer shredded jumpers too which totally softened tailored trousers and gave the whole look a little injection of grow-up grunge.  So sad not to have any more shows to go to, but I am waiting with baited breath to see the latest offerings from Style.com.  Will be posting more about some of my fave shows at London asap...

Diesel Black Gold Wonders

Cal me narrow minded but who would have expected such greatness from Diesel...I'm afraid I'll hold my hands up and say not I, but what a pleasant surprise.  Those burnt terracotta shredded jeans are heaven on denim and my love for all things lurex has just been re-fuelled by that slinky shirt and again, BOOTS!!!!!
Right enough posts for one day, I am bombarding my poor blog with shows.  Offically a binge blogger!  Got a couple of shows on Sunday (hip hip hooray) which is amazing news and has really perked up my weekend...Going to Matthew Williamson and Todd Lynn which I'm super excited for.  Might have to venture to Topshop's mecca on sat for some cheap chic..weekend is looking good.
 Hope yours is too...xxx

Proenza Schouler

From the good girl with a rock and roll edge, to Wednesday Adams on Acid....If Proenza Schouler's spring summer collection could be summaried as 'Surf's up', their new A/W collection could be called 'when edward (scissorhands) met Patti (Smith)...in tie dye'.  Ok, not the punchiest of summaries but I think it does the job.  I hate to say it, but I really didn't like some of the models they cast in the show, but this definitely didn't detract from some of the amazing looks that tore down the runway.  Just like Philip Lim, Proneza Schouler showcased some epic shoes teamed with mini mesh dresses and thick fur-trimmed coats with blue/green hues that reflected their last much-coveted tie-dye collection.  More than anything, I'm glad to see the pale and intersting goth look is back with attitude for A/W 10, only this time black leather and mesh is given a techno overhaul with oceanic tones and technical prints.  Crushed velvet leggings and graphic prints in aqua blues and greens create a 'new goth' look that takes it's attitude from the mean streets of New York and 80s pop culture references, rather than Dracula and black and white horror movies.  Gothic black lace is exchanged for sheer mesh and long black coats are swapped for cropped jackets with an almost nautical feel which continued the 'surfer in the city' theme they impressed with back in September. I love the fact that this collection is a real extension of Proenza Schouler's last, only with an injection of grunge for winter.  WOW!!!!!

3.1 Philip Lim A/W 10

It's offical: Philip Lim can do no wrong.  3.1 Philip Lim's A/W collection was probably my favourite so far...chunky coats teamed with asymetrical floating hems and checked wool shorts made for the ultimate winter wardrobe.  The shoes were insane and the odd hint of leopard print is always a winner.  And could the strappy platform sandals be the new Balenciagas Rumi's been glued to for months?  You can tell Lim is a New Yorker-his clothes just seem to speak to every single woman about town; the metallic blazers and silk shorts were pure upper eats side sophistication whilst shearling coats, leather and bohemian dresses were dowtown and dishevelled in spirit whilst still be super-chic. Surely a piece of 3.1 Philip lim will be the most coveted thing in every woman's wardrobe this winter...

Ideas I've alreayd been forming from the collection?  Wearing a thick camel coat over glossy black leather, mid-calf length skirts and dresses (that aren't harking from the dreaded 40s/50s trend), which I'm thinking will be the length next season, and denim on denim plus camel equals love at first sight.

Random Photo Love

A whole lot of lovely things that inspiring me right now...I'm desperate for some chloe-esque patchwork jeans liek the chloe ones.  Thought I was so lucky when I found an amazing pair in Hennes...only to discover they wouldn't do physically do up, despite going up several sizes. The Shame.  So I'm now hotly anticipating the patchworks Gap have got coming out some time soon....

sources:so many but deelightful, bohemian musings, knightcat to name a few.

Alexander McQueen

So sad to hear about Alexander McQueen...what a tragedy.  I'm  still hoping that somehow his Autumn Winter 10 collection will be shown in some shape or form.  He'll be sorely missed this LFW...long live those insane platform shoes!
