Legs Akimbo

Tabio is my new favourite haunt on the hightstreet-I can literally get lost in their fairisle tights and cable knit knee highs and am totally devoted to their 30 dernier tights for night.  These creamy, cosy leggings are only fuelling my obsession with hoisery even further. I always knew I had an old soul but turns out I have considerable more in common with Nora Batty than I first thought (although much better taste in tights even if I do say so myself).

Model Style

I just discovered the most amazing blog called Altamira at http://altamiranyc.blogspot.com...it/ has all the model off duty shots you could possible wish more, and in the words of 2009's Met Ball, the model is definitely this years muse.  These are just a few of my faves, featuring Anna, Sara, Dorothea and all the gang.  Check it out to be seriously inspired...

And speaking of...

Speaking off the return of the maxi, here are a few lovely, simple maxi dresses I've got my beady eye on...I think the ASOS one looks amazing with bare ankles so will be even more perfect sans tight once the mornings are lighting and the days are are warmer. If only Zara were online and I could show my oh so cosy grey knitted maxi dress-such a saviour when worn over cable knit tights.  Ooh, and you can't tell from the pick but the bottom frock is lurex which is always a winner with me.

Rewind

The 90s are offically back so what better way to get in the spirit of maxi skirts and denim shirts that with some vintage Kate Moss a la Corrine Day.  I think this might have even been Kate's first ever shoot, or at leats the shoot that rocketed her to the big time.  And can you blame it...it's just timeless.

Russian Dolls

Few pics from an editorial for Russian Vogue I found.  The outfits are almost identical in every picture but I think the styling is mostly in the setting and vibe of the photography...Screw running away with the circus, despite a distinct lack of ballet shoes and tutus this little selection makes me want to run off to Moscow and join the ballet.

There's a hole in my pocket Delia, Delia...

shopping

I go through phases wth shopping; sometimes I am so frugal it hurts and can be pretty happy with my lot for a few weeks, wearing the same thing several times over unfazed...other times I just can't stop.  Seeing as it's the end of the month financially I am only looking right now but, scarily, am making a huge mental list of what I will rush out and get as soon as funds permit.  This little lot are just doing cartwheels in my head at the moment...the pictures are pieces from ebay I'm hoping to win-I've had my fingers crossed for a full 5 days for that Moschino belt) whilst the other stuff is mostly topshop, an Asos velvet playsuit on ebay and the tweed coat is warehouse.  I am not a warehosue frequenter but this coat is just amazing.  I tried it on yesterday and it made me feel way more sophisticated than I actually am (anyone who knows me knows I can wear white for a maximum of ten minutes before spilling ketchup/coffee/toothpaste down myself) which is always an acheivement.  I am also frantically hunting a Zara copy of the Wang coco bag I saw a girl carrying the other day (yes, I cornered her on the tube and demanded she tell me where, and crucially when she purchased said bag).  Why oh why don't Zara have online shopping?!  It's so cold I just want to shop from under the duvet today damnit, but I've been given the day off today so I will carry on my pursuit...I swear I can actually feel my empty pockets burning!

Can't get enough

I just can't quite seem to get enough of Abbey right now.  Her style is ridiculously boho, not really my thing in such abundance, but on her...well I'm almost running to portobello to buy patchwork skirts and threadbare canvas bags.

Click and Save..

Bored, random clicking and saving in front of friends...always do it, just never post it, so this time I did.  worrying that 3 of pics include cigarettes.  Don't think I need Dr Spock to tell me what that means...

More Random Dree Love...

Dree just makes you realise it really is all in the details...the studded cuff in the top picture just makes the look whilst those leather lepels on the jacket in the bottom pic just add a whole new dimension of texture to such a simple look.  And it's always an acheivement to stand out at all when you're standing on a carpet that looks like it was modelled on some of the riveting illustrations from one of my 70s Maths GCSE text books.

Cosy Toes

These docs are just so much softer and cosier than their harder brothers and sisters and I instantly fell in love when I spied them in this months Elle UK.  Sitting in a rather chilly showroom right now, looking out of the French windows at the depressingly dark sky and just looking at these booties is warming me up from the inside out almost as a big mug of earl grey tea.  After helping a friend decorate their Christmas tree yesterday, eating advent chocolates in the morning and listening to Magic's best assortment of Christmas Crackers all day (Band Aid '88 3 times so far), I am feeling thoroughly festive and the sheepskin lining of these docs is only adding to it.  Can't wait till Christmas shopping is over so I can get myself some Christmas cheer...

In the Hoop

After taking out my somewhat tacky crystal nose stud about two years ago, these pics of Abbey Lee Kershaw for ID are making me wish my ex piercing was still alive and kicking....and after testing to see if said nose piercing was totally dead and buried, guess what, it wasn't.  I don't think I've been as excited as I was when I finally got my shiny new ring in on friday night for a long time...although I have had quite a few bull jokes thrown my way (cheers selfridges for doing the whole 'this is the samllest nose ring you'll find' schpeel).  Think it'll just be a little party piece I pull out from time to time but fun all the same...

Lux

I was flicking through and old copy of Lula the other day and saw an amazing editorial of Virgin Suicides stills redone by Corrine Day and fell in love with the film all over again without even watching it.  Wouldn't it be cool to be called Lux too...?

Hood me in sequins

This girl's sequin hoodie is probably the best grunge luxe piece around...I've lost a lot of love for sequins since every high street chain in England has been sequins ahoy this season.  Wherever you go right now, you can't swing a lace up ankle boot shoe without knocking a asymetric sequinned body con dress/sequin shoulder pads/ sequin harem pants (and the list goes on) off the rails, but this just reminded me why I first fell in love with those tiny shiny baubles and that sequns can be cool and aren't resigned to the realms of The Saturdays/ Strictly. Now, where do I find one...
